The band, Dream Theater, had big shoes to fill when original drummer Mike Portnoy decided it was time to leave the group.  After much debate and auditions with several of the top drummers in the music industry, the band settled on their new permanent drummer.  I won’t let the cat out of the bag too soon, because the video below shares highlights the audition process for the coveted drum throne of Dream Theater.  The music is extremely difficult in Dream Theater for every instrument in the band, but some of the best drummers in the industry showed up to audition and strut their stuff.  Check out the whole process below!
