Remembering Keith Moon Of The Who

The Who drummer, Keith Moon, was a live wire on stage. Photo courtesy of Wikipedia.org

Keith Moon was one of the most energetic and grandiose drummers to ever play in the world of rock music.  Gaining his fame from his time spent as the drummer for The Who, “Moon the Loon” was just as significant as lead singer, Roger Daltrey, lead guitarist, Pete Townshend, and bassist, John Entwistle.  I came across two videos that attempt to explain the drumming style and personality of Keith Moon, both from fellow band members’ and other musicians in the music business.  Moon was about as far out as a drummer could be, playing in and around the beat consistently.  That’s enough from me though, check out what others said about drummer, Keith Moon.

The first video features several musicians takes on drummer, Keith Moon, from his thrilling performances on stage to his antics off stage.  Check out what others have to say about him at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5e52Al9abNg&feature=related.

The second video I would like to share with you features conversations with the other members of the Who.  All of them remember Keith Moon and share stories in this video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKVcsznBG_I&feature=related.

Lastly, it would be wrong to write a post about Keith Moon without including one of his thrilling drum solos.  Check this one out at the tail end of a show at https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=fvwp&v=WT5uAIPFft8&NR=1.

As you can see, Keith Moon was definitely a live wire on stage.  I hope you enjoyed this little feature on the Who drummer, Keith Moon.  Stay tuned for more posts coming your way featuring the very best drummers in the industry.

Thanks and take care,

Chris
